Beautiful female face shaped with botox and fillers

Are the lines between your nose and your mouth looking deeper? Cheeks losing their sexy curves? Jawline and chin becoming less defined? Dermal fillers might be just what the doctor ordered!

As human beings, we lose volume in key areas of the face as we age. This contributes to folds and wrinkles, hollow temples, thinning of the lips, sunken eyes, and gradual aging of the face. Fillers can be used to restore facial volume loss, soften folds and wrinkles, and improve facial contours to achieve natural results. Certain fillers can also be used to fill in depressed scars.

The effects of fillers used at Learn2Renew are long lasting but not permanent. They can last anywhere from 6 months to 2+ years, depending on a number of factors including areas treated, type of filler used, quantity of filler used, filler placement and lifestyle.

Most patients experience only mild discomfort during filler procedures. A local anesthetic can be administered prior to treatment for a more comfortable experience. Also, most  fillers contain lidocaine which helps to minimize discomfort.

We also offer Nitronox, an on-demand delivery system that provides a 50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen. It is used to help ease discomfort during some aesthetic procedures. If you experience any discomfort or anxiety during your treatment, you are able to inhale the gas mixture through a mouthpiece, as needed, to minimize anxiety and discomfort.

There is usually no significant downtime following a dermal filler treatment. The most common adverse reactions are redness, swelling and bruising. Any side effects you may encounter typically clear up within 3-6 days of your treatment. But to be cautious, consider timing your procedure 1-2 weeks prior to any important events.

You shouldn’t have a dermal filler treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to any of the ingredients in the filler, or if you have irritation or infection of the skin being treated.

There are currently a very small number of published cases that demonstrate delayed onset nodules (DONs) or delayed onset reactions (DORs) following either the COVID-19 vaccination or COVID infection. Although there is limited evidence and only a very small number of cases, there is a risk of inflammatory reactions and soft tissue swelling in patients who have previously had soft tissue fillers, or plan to have treatment after receiving COVID-19 vaccination.

While we haven’t seen this in our Practice, we recommend the following:

Do not undergo soft tissue filler procedures within two weeks of your planned vaccination date, or within three weeks after having received it.
