Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Physician-led testing and treatment for the symptoms of hormone imbalance in women and men. Every plan is built from your lab results and monitored by Dr. David Croland, DO.

Why test your hormone levels?

As we age, hormone levels decline. This is commonly known as menopause in women and andropause in men. The changes can bring fatigue, weight gain and belly fat, brain fog, poor sleep, lower libido and sexual dysfunction.

Testing shows whether hormone imbalance or deficiency may be contributing, so treatment is based on your numbers instead of guesswork.

What is BHRT?

Bioidentical hormones are biologically identical to the hormones your body makes. They are derived from plant sources such as soy and yams, and are compounded by licensed compounding pharmacists by prescription only.

This differs chemically from synthetic hormones such as Premarin, Prempro and Provera. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved, and we will review the benefits and risks with you before you start.

Symptoms

Is hormone therapy right for you?

These are the most common symptoms of hormone imbalance. If several sound familiar, testing is a reasonable next step. Dr. Croland designs your plan from your lab results, which typically include estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol, thyroid and vitamin D.

How it works

What to expect

1Initial visit and labs

You meet with our clinical assistant, who reviews your symptoms and history and draws your labs to measure your hormone levels and overall health.

2Review with Dr. Croland

About two weeks later, Dr. Croland goes over your results with you. If treatment is appropriate, your plan is designed from your results and your symptoms, not a one-size-fits-all dose.

3Monitoring

Hormone levels are re-tested every 7 to 8 weeks until your levels and symptoms are where they should be, and your plan is adjusted as needed.

People with a history of certain cancers may not be eligible for hormone replacement therapy. Individual results vary.
